Well Christmas 2003 has come and gone and Father Christmas must have known about our trip as all our presents revolved around things we needed to complete our adventure. Maglights and torches, hanging toiletery bags, books on Cape to Cairo, DVD's, CD's and so much more - we were both very spoilt this Christmas!
Alan has also purchased the latest Mecer DeskNote; a computer/DVD player/TV/Video recorder all-in-one. It is a fantastic machine, with a large flat screen, excellent quality and colour resolution and a really good speakers. We will be able to work on our webiste, keep in touch through email, keep up with the latest news and pass the those rainy days by watching DVD's and listening to CD's.
Our Unimog is getting to the finishing stages rather rapidly now. What's left to do is the final "pretty" touches such as fitting the mosquito nets and blinds, putting on the door handles etc. We're nearly ready to go on a real full test weekend! The countdown on 1 January 2004 was 132 days left to departure!!
